Jersey Cheshire Home's Fundraising Opera

Residents and team members at Jersey Cheshire Home are hosting a special performance to raise money for a refurbishment.

Jersey Cheshire Home are the only residential facility on the island caring solely for adults with disabilities.

The group will be performing their own rendition of ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ at its Rope Walk base.

The residents and staff have been busy in rehearsals with local singing teacher Sue de Gruchy and her student, Rebecca Arthur.

They are fine-tuning their vocals and their Italian for this famous comic opera.

Donna Abel, CEO at Jersey Cheshire Home expressed her excitement for the project.

“Beyond the financial support, all involved are committed to cultivating a stronger sense of belonging and connection within the home.

There is a life after disability, and people can continue to do extraordinary things, like be involved in the chorus of an opera.

I'd be delighted if people were happy to come and see it."

The professional performances run from March 21-22.

Each night begins with a drinks reception at 7pm.

Tickets for The Marriage of Figaro can be purchased via Eventbrite – Jersey Cheshire Home Opera Fundraiser here.
