Public Bat Walk

This is a ticketed event (max.20 tickets) with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children. This includes free JBG membership for the rest of 2021 for those attendees who want to continue to learn more about bats. Tickets are on sale at Eventbrite so let all your friends know! Summer Come and find out what the bats are doing while you are enjoying your evening walks. Bat detectors will be available. At this time of year bats are busy feeding their young and themselves - making the most of all the insects they can catch! Since their calls are beyond our hearing you may not be aware of all the activity going on around you when you go for an evening walk. Come and find out how to spot them, and learn lots about these fascinating mammals. The walk will start with a chat about local bat species and an explanation as to how echolocation works. Then we will set off on a walk using bat detectors to help us detect the bats around us.
NB If the event has to be cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions, attendees will receive a refund
