Two Jersey Officers To Help Police Coronation

Two police officers from Jersey have been chosen to attend the King's Coronation.

Acting Detective Sergeant Patrick Forde and Detective Constable Pippa Le Mottee will be in London to help to make sure everything runs smoothly on Saturday (6 May),

The Coronation is expected to attract a large number of dignitaries and foreign leaders, as well as crowds of tens of thousands of people from around the world.

The officers will be working with their UK counterparts to keep attendees safe.

Police Chief Robin Smith has called it an honour that SoJP will be part of such an historic event:

"It will be a proud moment for the force and a proud moment for me as Chief. I’m sure too that our officers will have the experience of a lifetime with memories to cherish”.

The officers will be in London from Friday to Sunday (5-7 May).

Biographies

A/DS Forde has been a police officer for 29 years, having joined in 1994 after a career in the military. He received his Long Service and Good Conduct medal in 2014 and is currently in charge of the Digital Forensic Unit. In 2017 he received the United States Attorney Generals award in Washington DC for his work.

DC Le Mottee joined SoJP in 1998 and has worked in various departments within the organisation and is now a detective in the Public Protection Unit. In addition to her day-to-day duties she is also a Sexual Offences Liaison Officer and a Family Liaison Officer which has seen her work on several high profile cases. She received her Long Service and Good Conduct medal in 2018.
