Jersey swimming star Filip Nowacki is into the final of the 100m breaststroke at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The 18-year-old finished second behind Adam Ramsay-Peaty to make it through, after winning his heat with a time of 59:93.
The world junior champion is bidding to become Jersey's first Commonwealth Games medallist since shooter Colin Mallett won gold in 1990.
Despite Nowacki being the only Jersey swimmer to qualify for the semi-finals, there were some big successes in the pool for fellow island athletes.
Hannah Sterry, Clara Ginnis, Megan Hansford, and Oscar Dodds all achieved PBs, with Oscar Dodds and Isaac Dodds also securing season-bests in the 200m individual medley.
Elsewhere, Jersey bowls pair Sara Douglas and Fiona Archibald shocked Scotland with a tie-break victory.
It was tie-break despair for Taylor Greechan though, who just lost out to Roydon Aprerau of the Cook Islands.
