Rise in grant funding for university students from September

The Education Minister has announced increases in funding for higher education grants for Jersey students from 1 September, along with higher income thresholds to qualify for support.

Household income thresholds - the maximum amount parents or guardians can earn to receive financial support for their child's studies - will rise by 5.2%.

The income threshold to receive:

  •  the maximum maintenance grant will increase from £50,000 to £52,600
  •  the maximum tuition grant will increase from £110,000 to £115,720
  •  the clinical component grant will increase from £100,000 to £105,200
  •  a grant to attend an interview will increase from £50,000 to £52,600
  •  a grant for specialist equipment for a student with a disability will increase from £90,000 to £94,680
