Plans to build a new sea wall, gardens and cycle path at Havre des Pas have been announced.
The government says it will be Jersey's "largest coastal defences project since the 1800s".
Ministers say the seafront at the bottom of Mount Bingham is vulnerable to coastal flooding, with around 350 properties at risk.
They warn that could rise to around a thousand properties over the next 100 years unless its coastal defences are improved.
They've proposed building out between La Collette and Havre des Pas, constructing a new sea wall, reclaimed gardens and a dedicated cycle path away from the main road.
Islanders can share their thoughts on the plans in a public consultation which runs until Friday 12 September.
Those behind the project will also be holding drop-in sessions at the Havre des Pas Lido on Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 July.
