Joao Gomes Drumond has been found guilty at the Magistrate’s Court of sexually touching a young girl.
The 43-year-old committed the offence at a party in a town pub.
He touched his victim inappropriately over her clothing three times and tried kissing her lips before kissing her shoulder.
The girl told her mother about the crimes. It was then reported to the police.
Officers arrested Drumond the following day, 24 September 2022.
The victim was supported by Dewberry House Sexual Assault Referral Centre and an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor from Jersey Domestic Abuse Support throughout the process.
Detective Constable Carla Garnier says the police are committed to investigating and prosecuting all sexual offenders.
"[We] want to assure victims that there are a number of agencies who are in a position to offer support and guidance through all stages of the criminal justice process.
"We work with key partners and advocacy services such as the SARC at Dewberry House, JDAS, JAAR and the Jersey Women’s Refuge, to encourage victims of sexual crime to report such incidents."
Joao Gomes Drumond will be sentenced in September.
