After an unusual rescue mission yesterday, a family of seven guinea pigs are safely in the care of the JSPCA.
Five baby guinea pigs and their parents were spotted by a dog walker on the headland at Devil's Hole yesterday (10 March).
They are now safely in the care of the JSPCA small animals team, as the charity appeals for the owner to come forward or report them lost.
If they're not claimed, they will officially belong to the shelter and will undergo health checks before being rehomed.
Katy Kay, Head of Service Delivery at the JSPCA, says they probably had quite the adventure, but it's important they were rescued:
"This is not a call that we would get very often. We had six of us up there with nets, carriers and all sorts.
"We don't know the reason they were there, and we can't really speculate, but what we do know is that that's not a safe space for them.
"Whilst they were quite happy during the day and were running around, and looked, honestly, like they were having the time of their life, it's not safe, there's wildlife that would be a huge risk to them.
"If nobody comes forward, they become ours, and we will check them to see if they are suitable to be rehomed."
