Save water and win with Jersey Water
As summer heats up, Jersey Water wants you to save water.
From Monday to Friday next week, we’ll be playing Shower-oake on Channel 103's Morning Show.
We’ve recorded Dan Mills singing in the shower along to some of his favourite water-related songs - Think Rain from Madonna, Waterfalls by TLC or Barbie Girl from Aqua. Identify the song being sung in the shower to win a waterproof DAB+ radio - so you can do the same!
Save Water Tips:
- Cutting your shower from 7 to 4 minutes saves around 24 litres. Shower shorter – save water.
- Garden hosepipes and sprinklers use around 1,000 litres of water per hour. Watering cans only 200 litres...
- Skip the pre-dishwasher rinse and save around 5-10 litres of water per wash. Dishwashers on average use 10 times less water than washing by hand.
- Washing your wheels can use between 200 and 600 litres of water. A bucket and sponge uses less.
- Just by turning off the tap while brushing your teeth you could save six litres of water per minute – that could be as much as 24 litres per day!
- Just doing half loads in both the dishwasher and washing machine uses around three quarters of the water and energy of a full machine.
- A dripping tap wastes up to 200 litres of water per day. A leaky loo, 400 litres. Call a plumber to fix that leak!
Register below to play Shower-oake and get ready to win with Channel 103 and Jersey Water. Please enter by 4pm on Thursday 13th August. Good luck!
