After decades of international conservation work, Atlantic Bluefin Tuna have made a recovery.

Once classified as 'endangered', the species was upgraded to 'least concern' in 2021 following management across the Atlantic, and they have returned to Channel Island waters.

Jersey has joined the UK’s membership of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas, so can participate in a regulated and internationally monitored fishery.

To receive an application form, islanders should email marineresources@gov.je.
