Pink paint has been daubed on the Queen Victoria plinth.
Guernsey Police are seeking witnesses to the defacing of a statue of Queen Victoria in Candie Gardens.
Pink paint has been daubed over the engraved Guernsey granite plinth that the bronze statue sits on.
Police believe it happened sometime between late afternoon on Wednesday 10 April to early morning on 11 April.
They say a window on a nearby outbuilding was also damaged.
The statue was put up in 1900 and is a replica of one that sits on the Thames Embankment.
