Christopher Beaumont says a report in The Guardian about a plan to get rich investors to help buy up some of the closed hotels is speculation.
A Guardian reporter has been in Sark talking to the Seigneur, Christopher Beaumont and the article on 16 June focussed on a bid to buy up two mothballed hotels from the Barclay family.
The report said the idea was to get investors to buy into the plan:
"Beaumont, 66, is leading a charm offensive to attract new members of the global super-rich to help fund a takeover of the Barclay family’s string of abandoned hotels and other buildings on the island."
This refers to the Aval de Creux and Hotel Petit Champ, which both closed in 2014, but are kept ready to be opened at short notice.
The Seigneur has now told Island FM that this was speculation and wouldn't comment on the suggestion that he was trying to attract rich investors to help with that purchase.

How The Guardian reported on Sark
He added that the tourist season so far has been slow, with strong north-easterly winds in May putting off visitors, and the Island Games set in Guernsey next month may negatively impact tourism on Sark.
