Guernsey Water says it's dealing with a high volume of emergency calls following days of heavy rain.
Jersey Met says more than 32mm of rain has fallen on Guernsey in the past 36 hours, leading to flooded roads across the Channel Islands.
Guernsey Water says it has had a surge in emergency cesspit collection callouts over the past week.
Business Change Manager Andrea Simpson is urging customers to remain patient.
“This week we’ve dealt with more than 200 emergency callouts – more than we would usually get in a month.
"That’s higher than the usual monthly average in 2025.
"This is all down to the incredible level of rainfall, with February seeing twice as much as usual.
"Our drivers are working hard in these very, very wet and challenging conditions.
"Emergency callouts usually happen within four hours, but might take longer at the moment because of the number of calls we are getting.
"Please be patient when phoning, as the customer service team are receiving a lot of call and arranging emergencies.
"If your cesspit is filling up quicker because of the rain, that may indicate it is not properly sealed, in which case we recommend customers contact a drainage company. Thank you.”
