Four rescued from RIB 40 miles west of Guernsey

The lifeboat helped the crew onboard and towed the RIB to St Peter Port.

Guernsey Coastguard were alerted that a 24 foot RIB had broken down 40 miles west of the island just after 3pm yesterday afternoon (16 August).

The French Maritime Rescue Centre on the Cherbourg peninsula co-ordinated the response.

They used the RNLI's Spirit of Guernsey lifeboat to locate the craft and get its crew onboard - none were hurt.
