Jersey’s new ferry operator has cancelled its first sailing to Saint Malo.
The Tarifa Jet was meant to make its maiden voyage from the French harbour town to Jersey on 28 March 2025.
However, the sailing has been cancelled due to ‘technical issues’.
The Danish ferry firm is trying to get the ship ready for service, but it needs ‘additional work’.
DFDS is compensating for the lack of vessel by using the Stena Vinga for the Saint Malo sailings on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March 2025.
Those affected are also being refunded and given a voucher for a free future return crossing.
Chris Parker, Route Director for Jersey apologises for the changes at short notice.
“I know that many people were looking forward to experiencing DFDS’ services for the first time, and that islanders have plans to get away for longer breaks.
“We are working hard to keep the interference to a minimum and will notify passengers of the alternative arrangements as soon as possible.”
The Stena Vinga is still expected to arrive at 6:00 pm on 28 March 2025.
