The Education Minister has announced increases in funding for higher education grants for Jersey students from 1 September, along with higher income thresholds to qualify for support.
Household income thresholds - the maximum amount parents or guardians can earn to receive financial support for their child's studies - will rise by 5.2%.
The income threshold to receive:
- the maximum maintenance grant will increase from £50,000 to £52,600
- the maximum tuition grant will increase from £110,000 to £115,720
- the clinical component grant will increase from £100,000 to £105,200
- a grant to attend an interview will increase from £50,000 to £52,600
- a grant for specialist equipment for a student with a disability will increase from £90,000 to £94,680
The value of grants will increase less steeply:
