Alcoholics Anonymous in Jersey is marking its 75th anniversary by opening its doors to the island.
A public meeting this evening (19 October) at St Helier Town Hall will hear directly from people in recovery.
The group wants to reach out to the wider public, particularly those who may come across cases of alcohol misuse.
Channel 103 has spoken to an AA member, and a recovering alcoholic.
He said:
"One of our primary purposes is to reach the alcoholic who is still suffering. It's a very important part of our own recovery that we carry the message to the alcoholic who is still suffering.
"From a personal perspective, I genuinely couldn't have done this without Alcoholics Anonymous. I would probably be dead.
"It's an open door. Anyone who has a desire to stop drinking is welcome in any AA meeting, and we'd be delighted to see them.

"Equally, anyone who comes across the problem of alcoholism in their daily lives - be that the medical profession, judiciary, police, and all the charities - we would encourage them to come along and learn more.
"We want to hear from them on how we can be perhaps more helpful in the community."
The meeting is taking place at St Helier Town Hall from 5:30pm today (Monday 19 October).
