Patients on the Samarès Ward at Overdale Hospital have been moved to an alternative site in St Helier.
The newly-refurbished facility, just off Trinity Hill, has 20 en-suite rooms.
Health Minister Tom Binet says the government is committed to ensuring that any facility which replaced Samarès Ward would be of the same or better quality.
"This newly-refurbished facility will certainly provide patients with a fantastic new environment in which to receive rehabilitative care in preparation for returning home."

Moving the rehabilitation patients, who may be recovering from strokes and other conditions, means the government can continue with demolition work at Overdale.
The old hospital buildings are expected to be completely cleared by September 2024, just over a year since the project began.
Construction of the new acute hospital facilities is scheduled to start in 2025.

Public consultation is open for islanders to submit feedback on the proposed designs for the new £710 million hospital.
People can respond until 4 June with more information on the government website.
