A 20-year-old man has been charged with the attempted robbery of a St Helier jewellery store.
Sean Bernard Downey allegedly threatened a staff member with a broken bottle to demand that items be handed over.
Firearms officers were called to arrest the man after he fled the scene.
No items were taken.
Downey appeared in court this morning and has been remanded in custody until 6 September, while enquiries continue.
