The historic harbour-side La Folie Inn could be redeveloped to provide a hospitality venue with visitor accommodation.
The old pub, which has been closed and empty for twenty years, is at the centre of fresh talks on improving the site for tourism and hospitality purposes.
Plans state the historic building will be kept and renovated due to its listed status.
La Folie has been used for hospitality and as an industrial site in the past, but Ports of Jersey is inviting experienced oranisations to pitch ideas of how to give it a new lease of life.
Ports CEO Matt Thomas says this site is ripe for sensitive development that considers its rich maritime and social history.
"We want to offer both Islanders and visitors a renovated La Folie Inn and high-quality visitor accommodation, through a careful redevelopment of all the land and buildings on this site."

Ana and Marcus Calvani, Co-CEOs of the Jersey Hospitality Association, say La Folie is an important historic site that holds memories for many islanders but needs to be put to effective use.
"Creating another opportunity for visitors and islanders to stay in historic properties will really enhance the experiences that Jersey can offer.
"It's just the kind of project that Jersey needs to make it even more appealing as a destination.
"Along with the floating accommodation pods in St Helier Marina, we are excited that the enormous potential for alternative and quirky accommodation is being explored by Ports of Jersey."
