Cineworld cinemas will open across England from Wednesday 19 May, but Jersey's multiplex won't open for another month.
A Cineworld spokesperson says restrictions in Jersey mean it's not viable for them to operate.
"We apologise for the inconvenience but look forward to re-opening the cinema for our valued customers when restrictions are eased, which is currently anticipated to happen from June 14."
From 14 June, there will be no limits on uncontrolled gatherings and larger indoor events will be allowed.
Cineworld has been closed since 18 March 2020 to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Despite giving various dates to reopen since the pandemic has meant that hasn't been possible.
We are very excited to announce that we will be re-opening our cinemas in England on May 19! 🎉🍿📽️ We'll announce the re-opening of our remaining cinemas in due course.
