Jersey Prison Service launches training project with Jersey Bulls

The States of Jersey Prison Service has launched an eight-week programme in partnership with Jersey Bulls Coach Paul McKay.

Twelve selected prisoners will work towards a nationally recognised Level 1 football coaching qualification, in a Twinning Project programme delivered by the Prison Physical Education Department.

It aims to develop their confidence, discipline, and teamwork through structured coaching sessions.

Paul McKay, former player, who will coach on behalf of the Jersey Bulls, said:

“We believe football has a unique ability to engage, inspire and create opportunity, and this initiative is an important example of how the game can support education, rehabilitation and personal growth.

"We are delighted to support a project that we hope will have a lasting and meaningful impact. I look forward to delivering the course and hope it can have a positive impact on all the participants.”

The course has been made possible with support from St Brelade’s Church.
