January in Jersey was cooler and slightly wetter - but much sunnier - than usual. Plus, it brought us some snow!
The start to the year has been chillier and with more rain little than average, according to Jersey Met.
Total rainfall for the month was 110.7mm, with a fifth of that (22.2mm) falling on New Year's Day.
Between three and five centimetres of snow also fell over the island overnight into 9 January.
It was the first significant snow fall in the island in years and brought a rare chance for some snowman-building and snowball fights.
The month began with very mild temperatures for the time of year. 13.4°C on the 2 January was the warmest day.
However, the cold snap the brought us the snow, ice and frost saw the night-time temperature fall -1.4°C on 10 January.
Temperatures crept back up to double digits toward the end of the month, helped by high-pressure systems and southerly winds.
The island saw a much sunnier January than usual with 102.4 hours of sunshine. That is around 28 hours more than the 30 year average.
However, there were five day during the month that were sunless.
