Islanders are invited to a stall on Broad Street today (16 October) to learn potentially lifesaving skills.
Staff from Jersey Ambulance and HCS' Resuscitation Service are teaching people in Jersey how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.
From 9.00am - 2.00pm, anyone can come along to the pop-up 'Restart and Heart Day' stall to learn what to do if they encounter someone in cardiac arrest.

According to UK statistics, only one in 25 victims of a cardiac arrest is likely to survive without receiving CPR, but their chances increase to one in four, where CPR takes place.

Katie Campbell hopes the the training sessions today will save lives tomorrow:
"It is absolutely vital that bystander CPR happens because that increases the chance of someone surviving a cardiac arrest exponentially.
"Fewer than one in ten people will survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest and the way that we can make that number bigger is by getting more of the general public to be confident in performing CPR and by using the defibs."
