It has since been confirmed that fire crews were called to deal with three fires caused by simultaneous lightning strikes.
At one home in Les Quennevais, the chimney was hit and exploded, causing a blaze.
Damage was caused to four areas of the roof and loft space. The home has since been made safe and weatherproof.
A nearby garage was struck, with fuel vapour sparking flames.
The third incident was at a home in St Ouen, where a lightning strike caused structural and electrical damage.
No one was injured.
