Plans are being drawn up to convert the Hampshire Hotel into a care home for islanders with learning disabilities.
The Val Plaisant hotel is due to close at the end of this summer season before Les Amis takes over the property.
If approved by the Planning Department, the property would become a care home for islanders with learning disabilities.
The development will also include self-contained apartments to allow residents to keep some of their independence as they get older.

Les Amis' managing director, Shaun Findlay, says it's an important step to help tackle the problem of Jersey's ageing population:
"With the number of those with dementia on the island set to double over the next 20 years, we consider that developing Maison Les Amis is vital to providing the exceptional long-term care which we are known for.
"This is fantastic news for our island where the growing and ageing population is putting existing services under incredible pressure. Having these facilities to care for those with special needs throughout their lives will provide them with a better quality life and be a great comfort and support for their families and loved ones."
The charity secured the property through a 'very significant private donation', but says additional fundraising or sponsors will be needed for the project.
