Police closed Victoria Avenue westbound for a time this morning as Storm Alex has kicked up high waves and debris over the sea wall.
It re-opened at around 9am.
Officers are urging motorists to take extra care on the roads because of debris and fallen trees, caused by gusts of up 70mph.
A red level wind warning remains in place for the Channel Islands, with Jersey Met also warning of the risk of coastal and localised flooding.

Forecasters recorded around 30 millimetres of rain overnight and have said we could get a month's worth before the end of the week.
We've recorded 31.4mm of rainfall overnight at Maison St Louis, and 28mm at the Airport, and there's more to come #goingroundincircles pic.twitter.com/M8SzxQw5ah

The strongest wind recorded on Jersey so far today was at the harbour between 6am and 7am - a mean speed of 41kt (severe gale F9, 47mph) for a time. The highest gust was 53kt (61mph). The centre of the low is very close by, so there's a big variation in speeds over the Channel. pic.twitter.com/PQ6b2VIAtX
