Legendary Blur bassist Alex James will headline the opening night of this year's Weekender Festival!
He'll be bringing his Britpop Classical show to the island for the first time on Friday 11 September.
Alex said:
"Jersey! Alex James from BLUR here. I am so excited to announce that I’m bringing my Britpop Classical to the Weekender on Friday, September 11th.
"We’re taking the biggest anthems of a generation—Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Supergrass, The Verve and more—and we’re blowing them up with a full 38-piece orchestra and special guest vocalists.
"It’s loud, it’s cinematic, and it’s going to be legendary."

Warren Le Sueur, Festival Organiser, said:
"Bringing Britpop Classical to Jersey is going to be electric. This isn't just a trip down memory lane—it's a massive, symphonic masterpiece you have to see to believe.
"Splitting Friday and Saturday into standalone events lets us curate two totally unique, heavy-hitting experiences. Weekender 2026 is officially the unmissable event of the year."
Saturday's line up of main stage artists is yet to be announced.
Organisers say a strict priority registration model is in place for tickets, given the massive scale of the weekend and the expected high-demand.
Pre-sale opens at 7pm on 4 June and General Release tickets go on sale at 10am on 5 June.
Weekender 2026 is taking place in The People's Park on 11 and 12 September.
