Jersey Library will be open for longer from next month on a year-long trial.
It will stay open until 9pm between Mondays and Thursdays and until 5:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Chief Librarian, Ed Jewell, says he's been inspired by Australia's 'Libraries After Dark' initiative, where they also host the likes of yoga, pilates classes and food and drink tasting events:
"Whilst the Library will always have the provision of books and resources, study and reading spaces at its heart, our diverse building spaces also lends itself to a wide range of activities. We’re keen to speak to anyone who would be interested in working with us to help create a dynamic evening offer for the Library, supporting our work to inspire lifelong learning, culture, enterprise and health & wellbeing throughout our community.”
Any groups wanting to use the Library spaces can email je.library@gov.je.
