Guernsey parents expecting, or currently raising, multiple babies are invited to a new support group.
Seven families have signed up to the first Sweet Peas session, that is happing tomorrow (Thursday 5 December) from 9.30am at the Styx Community Centre.
The free support group has been set up by Home-Start to make parenthood more manageable and enjoyable for those raising multiples.
Parents can share tips and tricks and talk to others with similar experiences.
Manager Emma Cusack says having more than one baby to look after complicated things.
"Caring for multiple infants at once is physically demanding, newborns particularly require constant attention, feeding and changing.
"Parents often struggle with sleep deprivation, which can impact their mental and physical well-being.
"Breastfeeding or bottle feeding multiple babies can be quite tricky too, and time-consuming. Ensuring each baby get enough nutrition can cause some concern sometimes.
"Parents of multiples often need to be exceptionally organised to manage their daily routine.
"People also have financial strains, because multiples can be more expensive due to the cost of baby supplies and childcare.
"Also, isolation, caring for multiples can be a full-time job, and leaves little time for socialisation or maintaining friendship, but hopefully with these groups we can foster that community back with them."
