Man jailed for using everyday items to smuggle drugs into Guernsey

35-year-old Gino Pallisco has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison for the importation of drugs.

On 19 November 2025, Guernsey Customs Officers at St Peter Port Harbour stopped a man getting off the ferry.

During a search of 35-year-old Gino Pallisco's belongings, tests showed that there were traces of controlled drugs.

An X-ray confirmed abnormalities with a packet of laundry capsules, and two boxes of ‘Capri-Sun’.

222.36 grams of cocaine were found within three of the juice pouches.

Amongst the washing pods, officers found a package containing 100.2 grams of Ketamine.

This week, Pallisco was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for the importation of cocaine and three years for the importation of Ketamine, to run concurrently.

Police shared the case on social media, with this message:

"The Guernsey Customs and Immigration Service regularly conduct checks of individuals arriving on both commercial air and sea traffic as well as on private vessels and aircraft that visit the island."
