Police have charged and bailed a 33 year old under a Terrorism Law offence after an alleged incident at Folies nightclub.
Staff and members of the public inside Folies nightclub in St Peter Port were evacuated shortly before closing time, in the early hours of Sunday morning (10 May).
Around 5.30am, Guernsey Police informed the public via social media that they had received 'a threat'.
For a few hours a cordon was in place around the North Plantation area.
Around 9am the area became accessible to the public again.
Guernsey Police issued a second statement on social media confirming that they were investigating a bomb threat, but the area is safe, "We thank everyone for their understanding while we ensured there was no threat."
Later, they revealed a 33-year-old man had been arrested and subsequently charged under Section 74 of the Terrorism and Crime (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002 to appear in the Magistrate's Court on 18 May.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else but continue to appeal for witnesses, especially those inside the Club at the time.
Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the control room on 222222 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
