Guernsey is a net exporter of shellfish into Europe and fishing was on the agenda for talks between His Excellency Pedro Serrano and key States figures.
Of potential concern is the Brexit reset deal around the access rights of EU boats into British fishing waters for 12 years.
However, the channel islands were assured after talks in May this year that they would not be affected by this and their TCA agreement within the deal still holds.
Finance, still the biggest contributor to Guernsey's economy was also discussed, alongside renewable energy.
Guernsey's senior politician, deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez, says discussions around the EU ambassador's first visit were important for the island:
“As a small jurisdiction at a time of geopolitical uncertainty, good co-operation with our geographic neighbours is more important than ever.
"As well as participating in the UK-EU Trade and Co-operation Agreement, we also have strong bilateral relationships with EU Member States, particularly France, and our third country status in areas such as financial services are of particular value to our economy.
"We are working closely with the UK to ensure that Guernsey’s interests are taken into account in the UK-EU reset negotiations, so that we can benefit from any changes and improvements."
Snr. Serrano visited Candie Museum and Castle Cornet during his trip, where he fired the noon day gun.
