Contractors are working to deepen the pool at La Vallette, to allow the diving board to be used again.
In February, the State's Health and Safety Executive ordered the removal of the diving platform at the Ladies’ Pool, as the water depth underneath was deemed too shallow at times to be safe.
On 9 February, pool users attended a large protest led by Adrian Sarchet aka ‘The Sea Donkey’.
Today (28 April), several local firms have come forward to rectify the health and safety problems, free of charge.
A one-tonne digger has been craned into the pool to execute a ‘dig out’, removing silt and rubble which has accumulated under the platform.
A review of Pool leakage is also underway to ensure water levels can be maintained as this affects the overall depth.
