WATCH: "Do It For Jersey!"

A new campaign has been launched to get as many islanders as possible to 'do it for Jersey' and holiday at home this summer.

Visit Jersey says the aim is to support local tourism and hospitality businesses, as they continue to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A dedicated hub is available on Jersey.com to showcase what is on offer across the island.

"We know that a key part of the excitement of a holiday starts with the planning and exploration stage. Islanders know Jersey better than most visitors but there are still many undiscovered gems and experiences on our island waiting to be enjoyed by locals, so we wanted to develop a humorous and inspirational campaign that evokes the pride and passion for our island and supporting Jersey jobs and businesses, whilst also enabling a well-deserved holiday experience." - Amanda Burns, Visit Jersey CEO.

Staycations were heavily promoted in Jersey last summer too, as businesses tried to bounce back from the impact of lockdown.

Hotels, restaurants, cafes and pubs that serve food reopened in Jersey on 22 February. The aim is for drinks-only table service to resume from 12 April.

"The playful campaign reminds islanders it’s no sacrifice to holiday at home, when your home happens to be one of the most beautiful and enviable places in the world. With a rousing call-to-arms: ‘Do it for Jersey!’ We are still telling the honest narrative that the tourism industry needs you to step up and go on staycation, but the big secret? You might just enjoy it (but keep it under your sun-hat!)" - Meryl Laisney, Head of Product at Visit Jersey.
