The Battle of Flowers is due to go ahead in August and will look slightly different, with a new route through town.
There will be two parades this year:
- The Day Parade: Friday 8 August at 1 pm with fresh and paper flowered floats and entertainment.
- The Evening Parade: Saturday 9 August at 7.30 pm with illuminated floats and a firework finale.

This year's events will feature over 20 stunning floral floats up to 30ft in length alongside bands, dance troupes, and entertainers.
New to the event this year, town retailers are taking part by decorating their shops with collaboration from battle exhibitors.
There were fears that the parade would be cancelled after a £150,000 loss last year.

But a more stripped-back version of the event has meant it can still go ahead.

The new Battle of Flowers team is working to modernise the parade, with discussions underway to return it, and the 45ft floats, to its home on Victoria Avenue for 2026.
