Claire Louise Fowell has been found guilty in the Magistrate’s Court of inappropriately touching an 18-year-old at Portelet Bay.
The 44-year-old was arrested on 9 May 2025 (Liberation 80) after being reported for touching the teenager's inner thigh and then attempting to pull down his shorts, whilst he was at the beach with his friends.
She was charged under the Sexual Offences Law on 30 October and pleaded not guilty on 20 November.
Following a two-day trial, the Magistrate’s Court found Fowell guilty, and she will be sentenced on 24 April 2026.
Detective Inspector Christina Maclennan says sexual offending in any form is 'completely unacceptable'.
"Today’s conviction reflects our commitment to ensuring that those who commit such offences will be held to account.
"No one should feel unsafe or subjected to unwanted contact, and we hope this outcome provides reassurance that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
"We continue to work to protect victims, pursue offenders and bring them to justice.
"We would encourage anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact us or our partner agencies below."
