Work is taking place this week to provide more shade at the water park at Millbrook.
Changing huts are also being installed, along with CCTV to deter vandalism.
The government says part of the back of Coronation Park will be closed off, but the Splashpad will remain open throughout.
A statement said:
"The enhancements aim to support family-friendly facilities and provide better on-site amenities.
"These improvements reflect the ongoing commitment to maintain Coronation Park as a welcoming and safe space for all visitors."
The work is expected to take two weeks
