Saturday passenger sailings to the UK from Jersey cancelled for four weeks

Islanders will not be able to travel to the UK by ferry on a Saturday for four weeks.

From 28 February, DFDS is suspending Saturday sailings to and from Portsmouth to support freight capacity over the coming weeks.

The service will return after 22 March 2026.

It means there will be no passenger sailings to the UK over the weekend for four weeks, as the fast ferry service is set to return in May.

The Danish ferry firm says any customers affected by the cancellations have been automatically moved to the Friday sailing and have been contacted about the arrangements.

Regarding freight, the statement says:

"During this period, DFDS will continue to operate two freight arrivals per day from Monday to Friday, and the Caesarea Trader will continue to provide its usual Saturday morning freight service."

Tuesday sailings of the Stena Vinga are making a comeback from 17 February.

This means there will be a six-day service once Saturday sailings return.
