Rouge Bouillon opens for pedestrians

Rouge Bouillon

Islanders can now walk up and down Rouge Bouillon again without cutting around Palmyra Road and Clarendon Road.

The pavement has reopened after those working on the site were able to reduce the cordon.

However, work continues to fill 'voids' and stabilise the property on the corner of Clarendon Road and Rouge Bouillon.

It follows a burst water main, causing a sinkhole in the road in mid-December.

Jersey Demolition Company's work is expected to finish this weekend, and from Tuesday, 6 May, Jayen will continue to fill the gaps in the southern part of Route Bouillon near the house.

Scaffolding has also been removed from the side of the building, which stood in the road, which the government says represents 'another key step towards' the road's reopening.

Islanders are told the project is still 'on schedule', but have not been given an end date to the work.

There will be another update next week.
