The patient records of islanders who use the rheumatology services are being reviewed after concerns were raised about their record-keeping, case management and communication.
The audit could see some patients have changes to their care plans because their current one isn't suitable to their 'individual needs'.
But the Medical Director for HCS, Patrick Armstrong says people shouldn't be worried as many patients have already seen the necessary changes to their treatment.
"My advice is that people should continue with their current regime and if we have any concerns we will contact them and bring them in on an individual basis.
I want to stress that many of the treatments are the right ones and it is important not to stop those."
The audit is expected to be finished by June.
It follows a review by the Royal College of Physicians, which was commissioned as part of a wider review into the island's health service following a damning report last summer which found a toxic environment in the hospital.
