Oh yes it is, Jersey's first professional pantomime!

Jersey Opera House is to stage its first ever professional pantomime this Christmas.

Jack and the Beanstalk will run from Friday 18 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.

Co-produced with the award-winning Evolution Productions, the pantomime has been written by Paul Hendy of The Last Laugh, staged in the West End and at Jersey Opera House.

The company, Evolution Productions is a five-time winner of the prestigious ‘Pantomime of the Year’ at the UK Pantomime Awards.

Whilst Jack and the Beanstalk will be a fully professional production, Jersey Opera House and Evolution Productions have committed to including islanders in the cast alongside the company.

Auditions will be advertised on the theatre's website later in the year.

Paul Hendy, Writer and Producer at Evolution Productions, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with the brilliant team at Jersey Opera House.

"We can’t wait to bring this spectacular pantomime to this fabulous theatre, and we’re really looking forward to discovering some fantastic talent on the island.”

Sebastian Warrack, CEO of Jersey Opera House, says bringing over a professional pantomime marks another important step in the theatre's future:

" Pantomime is a much-loved theatrical tradition, and working with Evolution Productions allows us to deliver something truly special for Island audiences, while also creating meaningful professional opportunities for local performers.”

Jersey Opera House officially reopened in October 2025 following a five year hiatus and a near £13 million pounds refurbishment.
