Nude Dunes planning application refused again

Seven members of the government Planning Committee have unanimously refused an application for the former Nude Dunes.

The building has been empty since late 2023, when Nude Foods ceased trading in Jersey.

Nude Dunes had only been trading for four months before the announcement of its closure.

Revised plans included a modified layout for a two-bedroom self-catered holiday stay, with a car parking space, which joined onto a beach cafe for islanders to use.

Revised plans for Nude Dunes, which have been refused.

Nadia Miller, who owns the building, also wanted to see a pergola added to the cafe terrace for additional shelter.

However, the Committee agreed that it is not an appropriate addition to the site, which is in an 'extremely sensitive area' that needs a 'high degree of protection'.

On the subject of the public toilets, Ms Miller told the Planning Committee that a 'private individual' cannot get insurance for public toilets.

This means one of the only ways they can be reopened is if a business takes over the building, or it is used for another purpose, such as a cafe.

Ms Miller told Channel 103 that she will go to the Royal Court for further action.
