People were evacuated from their homes on Gloucester Street on Tuesday night when a fire broke out in a launderette.
Crews were called to the ground floor of an apartment block just before 9pm to put out the blaze.
The road was closed for around two hours while firefighters ventilated the building so residents could return to their flats.
JFRS has praised residents for their co-operation.
