Government appoints new Havre Des Pas Lido operator

Jersey Government has confirmed a new operator for the Havre des Pas Bathing Pool.

First Point will be the new operator of the Havre Des Pas Bathing Pool.

This follows a competitive selection process overseen by an independent panel.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Connétable Andy Jehan, will today sign a Ministerial Decision confirming the intention to appoint First Point as the new operator.

It comes as a backbencher called for the tender process to be scrapped in favour of giving it to the 'Love Our Lido' group.

The current occupier of the Lido did not participate directly in the selection process and has a licence to operate until 25 December 2025.

They have been given due notice of the need to vacate the premises by this date.

The new lease with First Point will commence on 1st January 2026.

Connétable Jehan said:

“This agreement, following a thorough process, gives the Lido the fresh start that everyone has recognised is needed."

Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, has welcomed the decision:

“I welcome First Point’s proposals to enhance community involvement and improve the range of activities available at Havre des Pas.

"This is a positive step for islanders and especially St Helier residents.

"The new operator will work closely with the Havre des Pas Steering Group to ensure the Lido continues to serve the community and remains fully accessible to the public.”
