You can get checked for diabetes today.
The free checks for World Diabetes Day are to raise awareness of the condition and help islanders live their healthiest life.
They’re being offered between 10am and 4pm at the Grand Marché stores in St Helier and St Peter.
Diabetes Jersey’s Chairman, Bill O’Brien, says more than 4,000 people in the island have the condition:
“[The checks] will enable many of those at risk to be diagnosed early enough to minimize the impact of type 2 diabetes on their lives. It is worth remembering that every day in Jersey at least one more person is diagnosed with diabetes.”
If you aren’t able to make it along today, Diabetes Jersey is also offering free tests every Monday for the next three weeks; on 19 November, 26 November and 3 December.
