There's a warning a fraudster is trying to sell Jersey 4 digit number plates on a local car forum on Facebook.
They're using the names John Wilson and John Clacy and giving out a mobile number.
Jersey Police have received a number of reports of the scam, which it says is being operated by someone in the UK.
We're told not to send any money or banking details and to call 612612 with any concerns.
