Firefighters tackle ‘potty predicament’

Credit: JFRS

In one of the more unusual call-outs for Jersey Fire and Rescue, they’ve freed a toddler who got a potty stuck on his head.

The 999 call reported that Leo, a curious two-year old, has managed to get his head ‘firmly wedged’ inside a potty.

Firefighters were dispatched and used a small pad saw to free him.

JFRS has praised Leo for his bravery and presented him with one of the service’s teddies - Blaze Bear - to reward his courage.

White Watch Commander Richard Ryan said

“We don’t often get called to incidents quite like this one, but Leo took it all in his stride. We think he’s got a bright future ahead… preferably outside of bathroom accessories.”

JFRS said Leo and Blaze Bear were both reported to be safe, happy, and giggling after their unusual adventure — adding that firefighters have gently suggested that all potties be kept strictly for sitting from now on!
