A 27-year-old man has appeared before Jersey's Magistrate's Court charged with nine offences - including attempted rape - following a string of sexual assaults against five women.
Abdelkarim Arfaoui has two weeks to enter pleas and will return to the Royal Court on 6 February 2026.
The man, who lives in Jersey, has been charged with:
- Attempt rape,
- Attempt sexual penetration,
- Attempted sexual touching,
- Sexual touching x 4,
- Common assault,
- Grave & criminal assault.
The 27-year-old has been remanded in custody at HMP La Moye until his next court appearance.

A fifth woman has come forward following an appeal by police for information about a suspected encounter with the suspect on Minden Place, shortly after 7:00 am on Sunday 30 November.
It follows four other reported assaults in St Helier between 6:00 am and 7:21 an that morning, stretching from the Le Geyt cut-through near Springfield to West's Centre.

Officers believe that, between 7:03 am and 7:21 am, the suspect ran down New Street towards King Street and then headed towards the Esplanade, down Conway Road, before going up Hill Street and across to West's Centre.

Detective Inspector Christina MacLennan, Head of CID, is appealing for islanders to report any similar offences at the earliest opportunity.
"Please be assured that we will always do our utmost to keep the public safe and act as quickly as possible, as we did in this case, with the suspect being arrested within 10 minutes of reporting.
"We urge anyone who is a victim of predatory behaviour or sexual assault to contact the police at the earliest opportunity.
"If you are in fear, ring 999 at the time."
