DFDS introduces St Malo day trip fares

Jersey’s new ferry operator has announced a lower fare for day trips to France and changed some sailings so passengers have longer in St Malo.

DfDS takes over running the island’s sea links on Friday (28 March).

Following feedback on its St Malo offering, it has brought in a reduced fare for Jersey day-trippers, starting from £29 return for foot passengers and £69 for one person in a car.

The ferry firm has also altered its sailing schedule so that passengers have more time in the French port city. It is after some islanders complained about the average five hour turnaround times.

Chris Parker, Jersey Route Director at DFDS, said:

“We continually listen to our customers, stakeholders and key tourist groups, and adapt our services to meet their needs. By increasing the number of day trips on this popular route, we’re creating more opportunities for people to enjoy the unique experiences that St Malo has to offer.”

Some previously-advertised sailings have been removed to ‘ streamline operations and focus n key travel times’.

Affected passengers are being contacted.

Anyone who has booked a St Malo day trip before the special fares were announced will be contacted and refunded the difference.

Earlier this month, DFDS announced some changes to its Portsmouth changes, including scrapping Sunday services.

DFDS was chosen by Jersey’s government over existing company Condor Ferries, which has since been rebranded as parent firm Brittany Ferries and which will operate Guernsey routes only from this Friday.
